Novice Member. Oct 30, 2021. #1. I have recently bought a Sony STR-DH790 receiver. I have a few issues hope someone can help. Sometimes when playing a dvd the back speakers don't seem to work at all. I have the 5.1 set up through B&W speakers, the front speakers work ok, occasionally I will get music coming through the back but nothing else.Get a sound bar (just kidding) Do the 1080, 790 is good, but not as good. Reference Klipsch are good speakers, just get large ones for better sound. I like my surrounds to be large too for balance, and Atmos too. If the woofers are too small you just don't get as good of a sound. 8 inches is better than 6, 6 is better than 5, 5 is better than 4.This operation is only available using the display panel on the front of the receiver.
