Specifically, if you go into the Dungeon then Siegward will be captured, and won't save Greirat. The boss you beat doesn't have to be the Pontiff, but you really shouldn't go ... DO NOT BUY ANY OF SIEGWARDS GEAR LET PATCHES HOLD ON TO IT FOR A LITTLE WHILE LONGER. Go kill any boss.
